It’s Basketball Season!

It has been a long, and rough football season. The heartache of the 2016 season will finally be over after Friday’s match-up with in-state rival ASU, and that means 100 percent of the focus can now be on basketball from a fans’ perspective!

From early indications, the team does look good, despite being young, and could become even better if sophomore Allonzo Trier becomes cleared to play at any point this season.

More from Arizona Wildcats

Since the Lute Olson days, Arizona has widely been considered to be a ‘Basketball School.’ We have been blessed with occasional good, but not great football seasons, and have certainly had plenty of success in our other athletic programs as well, but generally speaking when you think Arizona Wildcats you think basketball!

Expectations are high once again, and rightfully so after the Wildcats have a competitive team, with tons of young talent. The heartbreak of a tough football season can always be somewhat forgotten with a great basketball season, and 2016-17 has the potential to be a special one.

So as you’re sitting around the table with your family this holiday season, be grateful for Arizona Basketball!
