No. 5 Lorenzo Burns (RS Freshman)

Coming in at number five is defensive back, Lorenzo Burns. The former standout at Linfield Christian in Murrieta, CA, Burns was a pretty sought after corner in the 2016 recruiting class, having offers from Cal, Washington, and Nebraska among others.

Last season, Burns seemed to impress coaches early on, even making appearances in the Cactus Kickoff Classic vs. BYU, and collecting a tackle versus Grambling State. However, an injury would derail his season, and Burns would redshirt the rest of 2016.

Now heading into 2017, Burns looks to continue to stay in the coaches favor and return to form just ahead of the season.

Arizona loses DaVonte’ Neal, but return Dane Cruikshank, Jace Whittaker, Sammy Morrison and Kwesi Mashack at corner. The Wildcats could use a bit more consistency and improved performance in the defensive backfield, and I’m sure getting Burns back will be an immense help.
