Sean Miller opened the doors to Arizona Basketball making himself and four players available for questions, Rawle Alkins stole the show.

Arizona Basketball star guard Rawle Alkins is good at many things, dribbling, dunking, playing through pain, and being insatiable when it comes to winning.

A couple of weeks ago in Vegas, Alkins bumped into famous sports photographer Cassy Athena who took some fantastic photos of the Arizona guard. So put ‘photogenic’ on his list as well, she took some wonderful photos of Rawle, check.

Quite coincidently, Cassy and I met up at the UCLA Basketball workouts in Los Angeles where Bruins work out alongside the Phoenix Suns. She was taking photos of Suns guard Devin Booker, Warriors guard Nick Young, Portland Trailblazers big man Meyers Leonard, new OKC Thunder small forward Paul George and more. She does great work, and she gave Alkins the NBA treatment.

Slam Magazine Online asked Alkins for an interview when he was back home in Brooklyn visiting mom and his family. Alkins gave very in-depth and thoughtful answers. There is no question that Alkins will shy away from, well maybe he will laugh at a question (Damien Alameda we will get to you soon).

His prowess behind the mic can only be another feather in his cap when he leaves Arizona next season and pursues that coveted lottery pick (2018 NBA Draft pick 14 or under) that at least two Assistant NBA GMs told me at an NBA conference was a complete possibility. They advised Alkins should work on his jump shot, his three and his jump in general.

So the future looks bright, and according to yesterdays press conferences, Alkins is doing everything he needs to including getting his body fat percentage down which you can visibly see a difference in photos and videos.

That brings us to Tuesday’s press conference and interviews with Media. Sean Miller talked about the phenom who is Deandre Ayton, the Spain trip and more. But it was Rawle who stole the show with this endearing spontaneous interview with Channel 13 sports anchor Damien Alameda.

Rawle caught him a bit off guard. He is such a natural with the microphone in his hand, just like he showed in the photo shoot video when he got freshman teammate Ira Lee to promise him he would get him a ring without knowing where the conversation was going.

Here is the interview (MUST WATCH):

Oh, snap! Rawle just promised Damien he would sing some R&B before he leaves Arizona! Woohoo! That’s going to be fun! Only one little “explicit” issue; if you enjoy Trey Songz and Chris Brown as I do, 95% of their music is not for primetime television. Rawle, may I suggest the chorus of Tremaine’s song Priceless, it’s about love and basketball:

"‘Cause, girl, your love is pricelessOne thing I can’t afford to loseAnd even though I ball, I would trade it allTo keep you in my arms, baby‘Cause, girl, your love is priceless (love is priceless)Flying in all the jets I flew (I flew), yeahAnd even though I ball, I would trade it allTo keep you in my arms, baby"

On a serious note, Rawle was asked questions about his teammates, and he described Deandre Ayton, “He’s full of joy — he says what’s on his mind, he doesn’t hold things back.”

Alkins is already a world traveler. He has been to at least four countries outside of the USA. Spain would make five. What’s great is that Chase Jeter gets to play and Miller promised everyone would play. Miller stressed that the wins don’t matter, but King Rawle has ‘winning’ in mind.

Alkins told Brian Jeffries that he knows some Spanish and we are dying to know what he can say. I will give it a try, my Spanish is rusty, but I do remember these words: Wildcats amigos Te Amo King Rawle! Bear Down
