With Kevin Sumlin being the new head coach for Arizona, perhaps his presence is already being felt with Keyshawn Johnson Jr. transferring to the Wildcats.
Keyshawn Johnson, Jr., the former four-star receiver from Calabasas High School in Southern California is reportedly transferring from Nebraska to attend the University of Arizona.
It’s a good time to be a Wildcat fan. On Sunday, the Arizona Football team got its man in Kevin Sumlin, and whether it’s coincidence or not, he already seems to be having a positive impact.

Johnson, the son of former NFL wide receiver, USC Trojan and No. 1 pick, Keyshawn Johnson, will be heading to Tucson! Reports came out Sunday Johnson would be transferring to Arizona, after never playing a single snap at Nebraska.
While at Nebraska, the freshman got in trouble, as he was cited for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession in June, which ultimately led him to leave the program.
Despite the Cornhuskers hiring Scott Frost from UCF back in early December, Johnson decided he wanted to go elsewhere.
Johnson was a standout at Calabasas, playing for the varsity team from 2014 until he graduated in 2017. Coming out of high school, Johnson had offers from Alabama, Clemson, FSU and Arizona among numerous others.
Coincidentally enough, he will rejoin former Calabasas teammates and current and soon-to-be Wildcats; Isaiah Hayes and Mykee Irving.
Because Johnson didn’t play a Down at Nebraska, it will be interesting to see whether Johnson will be allowed to play immediately. Regardless, he should provide some nice depth for the Wildcats moving forward at a position of need. Outside of Shun Brown this past season, the Wildcats didn’t seem to have a consistent, go-to option.
Just from looking at his high school tape, there’s a lot to like!
