Arizona Basketball former Cats Chance Comanche and Nick Johnson look to shine in the G-League Elite Mini Camp for NBA Team scouts.

More from Arizona Wildcats

The 9th annual elite mini-camp for the G-League is about kick off May 14-15th. At the end of the year, the G-League invites the top 40 performers of the season to a mini-camp in order to showcase their skills once more to the NBA execs and scouts. Wildcats will have a rooting interest as two notable alumni look to put on a show!

The first Wildcat will always be remembered for his bounce or hops while he is was a student-athlete at the University of Arizona. He took pride in his defense and coming through with that clutch stop from the opponents best player. Nick Johnson put on a show while wearing “Arizona” across his chest.

It did not take Nick long to put his fingers prints all over the G-League. As he might still be celebrating his G-League championships with the Austin Spurs. He also paired that with being the Finals MVP due to his outstanding performance night in and night out. Nick Johnson, put together a memorable year down in the G-League that earned him the honors of playing in the Elite Mini Camp. Nick ended the year averaging 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Nick supported his college coach Sean Miller throughout the season:

The second Wildcat to be joining the mini-camp goes by the name,“The Chief.” While playing basketball at the University of Arizona, he wowed fans with his dunks and seemed to be available under the basket when the team needed him. Just like a chief, Chance Comanche always stood tall and used his forces when needed. Chance always provided the Wildcats with a much-needed rim protector against the high flying PAC-12 opposition.

Chance took the same skill set to the G-League and it has paid big time for him as he too earns an invite to the Elite Mini Camp. During this season Chance averaged nine points and five rebounds while playing for the Memphis Hustle. Chance has the athleticism to compete on the highest level and will use this Elite Mini Camp as another chance to prove himself as a valuable NBA asset. Lot’s of fans underestimated Comanche saying he would never even play in the G-League, but he has proved to be a star in the G-League.

Zona Zealots Expert Shereen Rayan caught up with Chance after a South Bay Lakers Vs. Memphis Hustle game to get more insight into his pro career. After this interview, Chance took flight and started making waves in the G-League.
