Ranking Arizona Football’s Opponents from Worst to Best
No. 1 – USC Trojans
2017 Record: 11-3 (8-1)
Feels like this is a no brainer. Sure, people can cite the departures of Sam Darnold and Ronald Jones as reasons why the Trojans shouldn’t be ranked as highly on this list, but let’s face it, they will undoubtedly replace both players with other four/five-star recruits who are in waiting.
The Trojans typically don’t rebuild, they reload with talent, and I don’t see this scenario being any different in 2018. They are being picked by nearly every publication to finish first in the Pac-12 South and for good reason.
They will have talent and depth, and have always been a tough match-up for the Wildcats, and in the last 10 seasons, the Wildcats have won just twice. They do come to Tucson, and early in the season too, so perhaps Arizona can catch them off guard on a hot, early fall evening where USC’s roster may still be getting settled!
