No. 12 – Southern Utah Thunderbirds

Conference: Big Sky (same as NAU’s)

2017 Record: 9-3 (7-1)

In Arizona’s third game of the season, the Wildcats will have a decent test here against Southern Utah. So who are they?

Conference foe to NAU, Arizona can’t overlook the Thunderbirds in 2018! While they still may be a Division 1AA school, the Thunderbirds are typically a formidable opponent to any FBS school.

Last season, SUU finished 9-3 overall, losing in the second round of the FCS Playoffs to then No. 11 ranked Weber State.

However, with that said, their will likely be a rather large discrepancy in talent between the two schools. It is worth noting, Oregon beat Southern Utah last year by a 77-21 final.

This game should be a relatively easy one for the Wildcats, and one we imagine that they will be heavily favored in. Arizona has the athletes, the depth and home field advantage going for them here, and we don’t expect this one to be too close.

That said, this is why Southern Utah comes in at No. 12 on our list.
