No. 10 – BYU Cougars

Conference: FBS Division One Independent

2017 Record: 4-9

The Cougars, consistently seem to be a proverbial thorn in Arizona’s side. They are mature, well-coached, physical, and will likely be a scrappy team once again in 2018.

Ignore the fact that BYU finished 4-9 last year. They played a rather tough schedule having to manage a few injuries as well. Luckily for them, they return mulit-year starter Tanner Mangum who suffered an Achilles injury.

However, opening week in Tucson against Khalil Tate and the Wildcats won’t be an easy one to win for the Cougars.

Arizona should be favored in this one and rightly so, but the Wildcats cannot overlook BYU. The Wildcats lead the overall head-to-head series by a 12-10-1 advantage, however, these two schools have split the last four meetings, with their last meeting (2016) going in favor of the Cougs.

Look for this one to be another tough one, with Arizona edging BYU due to the difference in play-making ability.
