No. 2 – Defensive Line

This is going to sound like a broken record, merely because I feel like I talk about this position a lot, but it shouldn’t be a shock this one is on here.

It’s no secret the Wildcats have struggled mightily on the defensive side of the ball for quite some time now, and I feel a lot of that can be attributed to the lack of production from the defensive line.

The past few seasons, the Wildcats have lacked size and talent up front, as well as a legitimate pass rush that creates pressure on opposing offenses. It appears that may change in 2018!

Returning are; Justin Belknap, Finton Connolly, Dereck Boles and Kurtis Brown, but joining that group will be; PJ Johnson, Sione Taufahema, Mykee Irving, JB Brown and Jalen Cochran among others.

On paper, this is easily the most depth and talent the Wildcats have had in quite some time on their defensive front. However, does that talent translate to success in 2018?

Well, we will get our first look of this group on Saturday, and if Arizona’s defense is going to make a big jump up this year, this position is going to have to be a big part of that!

BYU will provide a bit of a challenge, but it will be a great indication of what the Wildcats have!
