Arizona Basketball gets commitment from 5-Star Wing, Josh Green
Gaining more traction in the 2019 recruiting class, Arizona Basketball secured another commitment from five-star wing, Josh Green!
Disregard all of the negative media attention of recent, Sean Miller and the Arizona Basketball team are focused on one thing, continued success! Still a few weeks away from the start of the 2018-19 season, the Wildcats have secured their third commitment for 2019!
As you may recall, on board is a highly-touted point guard, Nico Mannion, and SoCal big-man, Christian Koloko. Now joining that list is a five-star shooting guard, Josh Green!

That’s right, the Australian-native and former Arizona high schooler are ‘coming back home’ to play basketball at the University of Arizona!
This is a huge pick-up! Fresh off his official visit to North Carolina, some fans have concerns, but it appeared that shouldn’t have been. The strong connection Green had to these coaches in addition to his relationship with Mannion surely helped.
It was initially announced on Wednesday afternoon, that Green would be deciding on Thursday via social media and now that time has come. Green has now made his choice, ultimately picking the Wildcats over offers from North Carolina, USC, Villanova, UNLV and Kansas.
In short, I think he ends up being the ‘crown jewel’ of this class! According to 247Sports, Green is rated as the 10th overall player in the class, and the third-best small forward. Additionally, I think he is just such a dynamic player, he really gives Arizona a whole other element for 2019-20.
As we’ve stated before, Green is just a fantastic player. At 6-feet-6-inches and 190 pounds, Green is incredibly versatile as an athlete and can either play the two-guard and a bit of small forward as well.
He is strong, powerful and a complete player who brings great intensity to both ends of the floor. His athleticism, size, and strength are off the charts and more impressive is his offensive prowess, being able to score in a number of ways.
As a player, he is still developing and could certainly use a bit more consistency from beyond the arc, but his strengths lie in driving to the basket, drawing contact or pulling up for a spot-up jumper.
His announcement was off the charts:
Just take a look at his highlights once again!
At Zona Zealots, we are excited for the commitment of Josh and can’t wait to see what he can do with the Wildcats! Welcome home and Bear Down, Arizona!
