The Arizona Basketball team’s low expectations might be beneficial for Sean Miller and his Wildcats this year.

High expectations create pressure like any other in sports. The expectation from the fans and the media can slowly creep into the heads of athletes and even sometimes coaches. This pressure can either make a team crumble or it can push a team farther than it has ever gone before. For Arizona Basketball this season expectations seem to be lower than normal and this might be beneficial for the ‘Cats moving forward.

This year for the Arizona Wildcats basketball team, a lot will be different from their uniforms to their starting five they roll out on Opening Night. As this team looks to turn the page from the nightmares of last year and write a new story that proves to everyone that they can still contend in the PAC-12 and even make a run in March.

While the team might have these aspirations for this season it is not a shared opinion by many other national media experts who have predicted the Cats to finish fourth in the PAC-12. Also, have let it been known that they do not believe this Wildcat team has the roster make up that can throw their name into the tournament come March.

Fans, do not let the media and national experts put a damper on the excitement heading into this season. The same low expectations that have been placed upon this team will be the same reason they will be one of the biggest surprises come to the end of the season.

With the whispers of National Championship, Sean Miller’s first Final Four and winning the PAC-12 yet again not being weight placed upon them. This will allow for a relaxed environment both on the floor and in the locker room.

As Cats fans, it is well known Sean Miller is far from being laid back in practice and on game day. This year it will not be accompanied by the pressure put on from outside the McKale walls. For the first time in a while the Wildcats get to play the role of underdog and they are about to show that they still have a pretty powerful bite.

Without the pressure from outside sources, one would have to think that it would allow for the basketball team to play free and easy. This same easy will allow this team to experiment with the new offensive style that Sean Miller is rolling out this year. The offense will future four guards from beyond the arc and only one true center. This should allow for the Arizona Basketball team to show off their athletic abilities.

This Sunday will be the first time this group of Wildcats will get to show their skills as they have their annual Red and Blue Game. Not only will fans get a first-hand look at the stars of today, but they will also be in the company of two of the most recent commits with both Josh Green and Nico Mannion who also will be checking out the game.
