If only the University of Arizona could have an indoor practice facility! Or at least that was the common excuse for Wildcat fans, long before the inception of the Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center.
It was begged and pleaded for by former Arizona Football coach Rich Rodriguez for quite some time, and as you may recall, the school finally was approved over a year ago to build the facility along with other projects.

Costing a whopping, $16 million, construction of the indoor facility began in April of 2018, and was just one of the many projects slated, in a huge $66 million budget allocated by the Arizona Athletic Department.
Ever since being approved and beginning construction, we’ve done our best to keep you informed of all the action, as well bring to your attention to the numerous other projects going on, on campus that could be followed as well.
Now, over 10 agonizing months later, the long overdue facility is done.
On Sunday, Athletic Director Dave Heeke opened the facility, allowing it be toured by those invited to the event, and from first reactions, it’s impressive.
Also in attendance were Cole and Jeannie Davis, school president, Robert Robbins, Sean Miller and Kevin Sumlin among numerous student athletes as well.
While the facilities’ use will certainly benefit the Arizona Football program, it will also come in handy for numerous other programs in need as well.
As the hot Southwest provides tough logistics to get over, the temperature controlled environment will definitely help, on those hot, Arizona summer days.
