Arizona Football becomes the first Pac-12 program to notice and offer under the radar Southern California athlete, Montana Lemonious-Craig.

Inglewood High School is famous for producing NBA legend Paul Pierce, his photo is in the locker room in the basketball gym for inspiration. Montana Lemonious-Craig looks at that photo and gets inspired, but this dual-sport and dual-star athlete gets more inspiration on the football field.

Arizona Football corner backs coach Meat discovered this talent a year ago, and gave Craig his first Pac-12 offer.

While Craig caught an impressive 30 passes for 573 yards as a junior this past season, he’s making a name for himself on the other side of the ball however.

If that’s not enough, Lemonious-Craig also is the star point guard for Inglewood High School and led his team along with coach Ron Allen, to the league’s Championship.

According to Greg Biggins, 247Sports, Craig has a close relationship with Arizona Assistant Coach Meat aka, Cornerbacks Coach Demetrice Martin.

"“Arizona visited me at my high school earlier and I talked with coach Meat (Demetrice Martin) today and he offered me,” Lemonious-Craig said. “I have a really good relationship with coach Meat, we’ve been talking a lot since February and he’s a very cool coach to talk with."

When we first met Craig, he was playing point guard for his Inglewood High School team and killing it. Heck, we didn’t even know he played football until the next month.

Craig is a natural talent! The night we discovered him, he scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds adding three assists, en route to dominating an in-conference rival.

Even better, he is the ultimate team player. As Lemonious-Craig is going into his senior season, his focus will now be on football.

We found Craig at the Premium Sports combine earlier this year and noticed that there was a wide receiver that wasn’t dropping anything that was passed to him.

When on the other side of the ball, he disrupted almost anything that came his way.

He was so impressive, Montana was called out by Coach Fig, Premium’s Director, as the player that worked hard and showed a ton of heart.

At the point of this interview, Montana had no offers, now he has about a dozen offers, including BYU, Colorado State, Auburn, Fresno State, New Mexico, Nevada, San Jose State, Wyoming, Utah State, Yale and now the University of Arizona Wildcats.

We asked Montana why this offer, from the Wildcats, is important to him and if he is planning a visit, “It’s big for me because it’s my first Pac-12 offer and I appreciate coach Meat! Also yes I do plan on visiting the school sometime down the line.”

Gotta hand it to coach Meat, he has an eye for talent, and Montana Lemonious Craig has huge upside, not to mention tenacity and heart. To find Craig out of a high school not known for football is quite something, but this won’t be the first, Inglewood just hired a new head football coach.
