Arizona Basketball: The best job in the Pac-12 Conference
By Jordan Cuda
For anyone that thought this was even up for debate, but Sean Miller has the most coveted basketball coaching job in the Pac-12 with Arizona Basketball.
Even through all the negative reports and headlines about the Arizona Basketball program over the past year and half or so, head coach Sean Miller still has the best head basketball coaching job in the Pac-12.
It’s no secret that these have been tumultuous times here in the ‘Old Pueblo’, as the FBI and NCAA have been investigating the rumored (but now defunct) payment made by Miller and Arizona to top recruits, mainly Deandre Ayton. Not to mention the season the Wildcats had last year that did not end with a tournament run in March.

Despite all that, Arizona is considered the best coaching job in the Pac-12 Conference. According to a study done by Stadium which was a survey taken by coaches, the survey resulted in Arizona ranking number one in three of the eight categories on the survey. They also got ranked number two in four other areas.
These categories on the survey included; history/tradition, media exposure, game atmosphere, budget/resources, buy games, recruiting base, facilities and selling pros. As any Arizona fan can soon recognize it is easy to see why Arizona ranks number one in this survey.
The schools that followed Arizona was the UCLA Bruins at number two and the Oregon Ducks at three. While our friends from Tempe who proclaim themselves at “GuardU” or playing inside the “Bank” fell in at number seven. The poll just proves what Arizona fans already know, and that is the best basketball school in our conference, is located in Tucson, Arizona.
If I had to guess, the categories that Arizona most likely ranked number one in would be history/tradition, recruiting base and selling pros.

When it comes to tradition, the Arizona Basketball program has a rich history of winning Pac-12 titles both in the regular season and post season. They are also well known for making March Madness regularly. They also were home to one of the all time great coaches in college basketball in Lute Olson.
The second one is recruiting base, which Arizona fans know is wide spread as recruits come from all over the United States and even over-seas just to be part of the Wildcat program. There is no doubt that the recruiting range that Miller expands far and wide. This opens the door for top level talent to make their way to Tucson,no matter where in the world they attend high school.
The final aspect is selling pros which can speak for itself when it comes to Arizona Wildcats in the NBA. Again, the history is rich of talented players to make a mark on the NBA after leaving Arizona. This trend is continues as such players as Ayton, TJ McConnell, Lauri Markkenan, Allonzo Trier and Andre Iguodala among others carry on the tradition.
For most Arizona fans this survey confirms what we already know, and that is Arizona is an elite program both within the state of Arizona and nationally. Even though, many others try to bring us down, it only makes us stronger. They will soon find out that these Wildcats are nothing to mess with in 2019. As always Bear Down and Go Wildcats!
