After a rough season for Arizona Football last year, there are a few reasons to believe that the Wildcats might have more success in 2019.

A missed field goal against your rivals and the outlook on an entire season drastically changes last year. If Arizona Football makes that kick, that team that finished with five wins, ends the year 6-6 to become bowl eligible, and suddenly fans are much more optimistic about the upcoming season.

The positive news is for Wildcats fan, there is always next season and that season happens to be right around the corner. We believe Arizona will be better based on a few reasons, and I break down why I think the Wildcats will be better!

Lets start from the top! The big reason why we feel Arizona will be much better this year starts with head coach Kevin Sumlin. Sumlin is entering his second season at the helm, and for most players and staff, that means a better understanding of the offense and defense and how coach Sumlin wants it executed every game day.

Next, comes the man who was once considered to be a darkhorse Heisman candidate going into last year, Khalil Tate . He was also featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and possessed a lot of the hype to hopefully put the Wildcats over the edge competitively.

This year, the starting quarterback looks to rebound from last season which was filled with nagging injuries and not living up to those lofty expectations. As a Cat fan, we all remember his elusiveness and explosiveness from when he first stepped foot in between those white lines against Colorado. If Tate is able to recapture that ability than they need to put warning signs on the I-10 heading into Tucson for opposing teams cause the Wildcats will be nothing to mess with in 2019.

Next would be his running mate in the backfield who is known for putting people through the spin cycle on the field. He goes by the name of J.J. Taylor who was considered by most people to be the team MVP last year. Taylor looks to have a repeat performance this year, as he looks to prove yet again why he is one of the best running backs in college football.

Next, is the man who plays on the opposite side of the ball and looks to be playing mostly in opponents back fields and that is Colin Schooler. Bursting onto the Arizona Wildcat Football scene, Colin was quick to make a name for himself with the long flowing blonde hair and his dominating performances on the field. Colin will also be looked upon to be a leader of this defense who looks to make major strides this year compared to last year.

As many fans can soon notice, the key to Arizona Football success relies on the pieces that have been for over a year now. It will be on their shoulders to carry this team to a successful season. They can achieve this by showing leadership both on and off the field on what it takes to be a “winner” in today’s age of college football. Its time to turn the page on last year and rewrite the script this 2019 season.
