No. 9 – Kwabena Watson

Position: Linebacker
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 210 LBS

2019 Game Stats:  Played in three games for the Wildcats, registering one tackle (solo), but was still able to redshirt for the Wildcats in 2019.

A former star at Edison High School in Fresno, CA, Kwabena Watson came in with some hype, and the Wildcats had some big plans to hopefully make him into a prolific edge rusher.

So far, that just hasn’t materialized, especially as Watson redshirted this last season, prepping for the 2020 season and beyond! As of now, it still seems as if the redshirt freshman may be a bit undersized for the defensive line, so instead he is moving to linebacker which will be interesting to watch for.

Overall, I like his size and athleticism at linebacker personally, and think this is a good spot for him. If he can make the transition this Spring, I think he is someone to watch out for in 2020, and should it work out, he adds immediate depth!
