What a difference just a few weeks make! After things were looking bleak on the recruiting front, Arizona Basketball has bounced back in a big way!

I know we’ve been bringing coverage on the latest commits and additions to the Arizona Basketball recruiting class for 2020, and my it’s been a busy few weeks for the Wildcats!

As you may recall, with just Dalen Terry and Ben Mathurin committed for 2020 as of about five weeks ago, then it was Seattle graduate transfer Terrell Brown being the first domino to fall.

Not long after that, it was European point guard Kerr Kriisa announcing his commitment, followed by French big man, Daniel Batcho and finally Tibet Gorener.

With those additions, Arizona automatically moved up in the recruiting rankings, however, they weren’t final rankings either.

I know if you’re a curious fan like me, you were wanting to see where European products like Kriisa and Batcho would land in the updated recruiting rankings. Additionally, I think I can say the collective we (Arizona fans), were interested to see if Mathurin, Terry or Gorener would move up in the rankings as well.

Well, on Wednesday the updated rankings were released by 247Sports, and it’s good news for Arizona fans! Here’s those updated rankings!

  • Dalen Terry No. 42
  • Bennedict Mathurin No. 48
  • Kerr Kriisa No. 61
  • Daniel Batcho No. 98
  • Tibet Goerner No. 117

With those rankings, Arizona now moves up to No. 7 overall in the country, and the Wildcats will also once again have the Top class in the Pac-12!

Even more impressive is that the Wildcats may also have targets to potentially still go after, which could improve their ranking, says Wildcat Authority’s Jason Scheer!

I know in college basketball, and particularly in the world of recruiting, nothing is guaranteed, but nonetheless, seeing this staff put in some hard work amid the pandemic and large roster turnover is refreshing to see! We’re just happy to see Arizona have a solid looking roster for next season!
