In his first conversation with the media since March, Arizona head coach Sean Miller spoke at length on many things, including Brandon Williams’ future.

It’s been a few months since we last heard from Sean Miller address the media, but on Tuesday, months after the Arizona Basketball season had abruptly ended due to Covid-19, Miller finally addressed the media, talking about numerous things including the future of Brandon Williams.

It seems like it’s been one of the hottest debated topics surrounding Arizona Basketball lately, and that is the future of Williams.

We’ve all seen just how talented of a guard he is, and it has certainly been disappointing, seeing him go through injury after injury.

After putting together a solid freshman season, many were hoping/ anticipating big things from him in 2019-20, however as we all know that did not happen.

Diagnosed with a congenital knee injury, the condition has certainly hampered Brandon, even requiring multiple surgeries. However, the Southern California native is still adamant he can play. The only question being debated now is when and where.

And as things currently stand, it looks like Arizona may not have any available scholarships after taking the commitments of the Tubelis twins. It seems that Brandon’s future at Arizona may have already been decided up to that point.

However, in Miller’s address to the media on Tuesday, Sean suggested that no decisions have been made yet, and that Brandon hasn’t had a full evaluation either. So it’s still a little too early to rule him out.

“He’s finishing up for the spring semester — as a matter of fact, he’s in summer class right now” Miller said. “We need to be able to get him back whenever we get clearance, so that he can finish a very crucial part (of his evaluation). Not until we cross that will he completely feel comfortable on when and if and how he is getting back onto the court.”

As for Brandon, he surely has been vocal to the ones that are already seemingly ruling him out on social media.

Watch to Miller’s whole press conference here!

Anyways, at Zona Zealots, we’re hoping for the continued health of Brandon and hope he can return to the hardwood once again. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
