Arizona Football could have a 6-game schedule in 2020
Arizona Football is back, and as the details of a 2020 season become finalized in the coming weeks, the Wildcats could have a six-game schedule.
It has been a long and eventful past few months for the Arizona Football program and virtually every other athletic program out there, as we all have adjusted to life amid the Covid pandemic.
So far we have seen a lot of college football seasons get cancelled, only to have the Pac-12 Conference vote on a reinstatement on Thursday afternoon. Their decision will have the 2020 football season begin November 7 in the Pac-12.

As of this point, we don’t know who will all be participating, but with the decision being so late in the year, the conference will now have to scramble in order to get a season up and rolling, even though it’ll be a rather short one.
With so many factors playing into this decision, there will still be a lot of logistical things that will need to be sorted out first, before the season actually starts. One of those things being a schedule.
As I had already stated, it will be a short season, and this goes without saying, but there is no non-conference schedule, and I would assume it is unlikely Arizona plays many of the Pac-12 North teams.
So far what is being reported, is that Arizona will likely see a six-game schedule, with the Wildcats playing all Pac-12 South teams. But who will the sixth-game be against?
Well, I’m not too sure, however, there is over a month until the season starts, so it is possible Arizona fills that sixth spot against a regional opponent, or maybe it will be against a Pac-12 North team.
Either way, we will see how things progress, and luckily for us, Arizona has already been doing their best to stay ready to play.
At Zona Zealots, we’re interested in seeing how these next few weeks progress. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
