Former Wildcat Jace Whittaker gets promoted by Arizona Cardinals
Already amid another week in the NFL, the depleted Arizona Cardinals have promoted former Wildcat Jace Whittaker to the 53-man squad.
We’re already into Week 4 of the NFL, and we have been doing our best to keep track of our Former Wildcats who are on active rosters. Well, now we will have to track another one, as former Wildcat Jace Whittaker has been promoted by the Arizona Cardinals.
The former standout defensive back for the Wildcats saw some success in college, but just like so many others this past year, he unfortunately was hurt by Arizona not having a pro day, or the NFL having no pre-season.

Just a few months after being signed by the Arizona Cardinals, it was announced that Jace would sign with their practice squad.
Well, fast forward a few weeks into the season and it appears Jace will finally be getting his chance to play at the next level. Making news via social media on Saturday afternoon, was that the Cardinals announced his promotion to their 53-man roster.
Now granted it helps him that Arizona has been absolutely decimated in the secondary due to injuries, nonetheless, just seeing him get a chance is great.
With the move, Jace now becomes the 8th Wildcat that is currently active on an NFL Roster (Rob Gronkowski, J.J. Taylor, Nick Folk, Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, Dane Cruikshank, Will Parks, and Nick Foles).
With the Cardinals facing a struggling Carolina Panthers team (1-2), the opportunity is there for Jace to succeed, and he will certainly get the chance to play some meaningful minutes.
After all, he is an incredibly versatile athlete that initially played corner with the Wildcats, before switching to safety this past season. That versatility will come in handy for the Cardinals.
At Zona Zealots, we’re glad to see our former Wildcat get an opportunity to play and can’t wait to see how he does. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
