As Arizona Football prepares for the upcoming season, it turns out even with the lifted bowl restrictions, the Pac-12 and Larry Scott may prevent the Cats from bowling.

It has been a wild off-season thus far, but luckily for us, we are nearing the start of the 2020 Arizona Football season, which will at least help us get our mind off things.

Even with expectations of Arizona Football being low among fans and experts, there was at least some positives to come from this season. Especially as the Wildcats could use this season as a learning year, even having the potential to play in a bowl game.

As you may recall, it was announced just a while ago that the NCAA is disregarding the minimum bowl qualifications this season, which means there is, or at least was a possibility the Wildcats could go bowling, even with a losing record.

Well, that is until Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott in all his infinite wisdom decided that Pac-12 teams will still be subject to achieving a .500 record just to become bowl eligible. Which means, the road for Arizona just became a whole lot more challenging.

Is he principled in his decision? Maybe, however, in a year where his conference will get about half the games they normally play, why is he limiting the exposure and additional revenue streams for his conference?

Look, I get the optics of potentially have a one or two-win Wildcats team in a bowl game, but to me, having the Wildcats in a bowl game makes perfect sense, and they go beyond just financial reasons.

Let’s face it, this is a young team this year that may ultimately struggle, so getting that extra playing time would be incredibly beneficial. Plus, imagine the Wildcats getting bowl game experience.

Anyways, this is just my thought, and it would be unfortunate if Larry sticks to his decision here. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
