With Arizona Football needing more help in the secondary, the Wildcats have added yet another commitment for 2021 in Connecticut athlete, Anthony Simpson.

It was another busy day for Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football as the Wildcats have added yet another player in the class of 2021, this time it is Connecticut-based athlete, Anthony Simpson.

A standout two-way player at Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, Connecticut, Simpson got an offer from Arizona yesterday and didn’t need much time to consider his options, committing to the Wildcats.

Making his announcement via social media, Anthony becomes the 20th commitment in the class of 2021 (not including the transfers for 2021) and helps the Wildcats to beef up their secondary.

Coming in, we were all well aware of the Wildcats’ needs defensively, so it makes sense they are not only being aggressive in the transfer portal but also on the recruiting trail as well.

And as you should have seen already, the Wildcats secured a commitment from Isaiah Taylor yesterday, and Arizona’s staff must have liked what they saw from Anthony enough to offer him and take the immediate commitment.

Standing 5-feet-11-inches and 180 pounds, he is a good athlete with great speed and athleticism, reportedly running a 4.4 40.

Considered to be a bit of an underrated athlete, Anthony virtually has no other offers, but on film, he looks solid. Playing both safety and running back, I like what he has to offer, particularly in the defensive secondary.

Calling himself a playmaker, I would have to agree. Anthony is an absolute ballhawk, able to make plays on the football with ease and he does well in the open field.

Naturally, I see Anthony playing safety at Arizona, but I think the key here is getting another good athlete on campus and seeing where you can play him. He also could pretty a solid return specialist for the Cats as well.

At Zona Zealots, we are excited about this addition and are intrigued to see what he can do with the Wildcats. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
