It has been a busy off-season for Arizona Football so far, and with the Wildcats quickly approaching signing day, we analyze their remaining recruiting needs.

Arizona Football head coach Jedd Fisch has only been on the job for nearly three weeks, and already he has done tremendous work in retooling and revamping this roster.

Inheriting a program that was just short of being a complete dumpster fire, enough cannot be said about how well he’s done in Tucson thus far.

Bringing in numerous players back that were initially in the transfer portal, as well as players transferring into the program, Coach Fisch has added a pair of athletes for 2021 as well.

But with just a few spots left in the 2021 recruiting class, how are the Wildcats going to finish? Well, we breakdown how we think they should finish…

Offensive Line – If we were to have just one major takeaway from the 2020 season, it is that the offensive line needs to improve significantly in 2021. A group that initially seemed like it would be a strong suit for the Wildcats turned out to be one of their weakest, as Arizona surrendered an average of 3.4 sacks per game.

In 2021, that is an area that needs to improve, and it starts along the offensive line. Luckily, Arizona returns quite a few players here and also bring in JT Hand and Luke Eckardt for 2021, however, one more commit would be ideal, in my opinion.

Secondary – Another area that needs to improve significantly is in the secondary. With Don Brown coming in as the defensive coordinator, the man aptly known as Dr. Blitz likes to run a lot of man-to-man coverage.

Given that simple fact, that means Arizona is going to need more personnel. It is worth noting that they do have some talent returning, and have added a lot of players like Logan Kraut, Dalton Johnson, Javione Carr, Jakelyn Morgan, Anthony Simpon, Isaiah Taylor, Isaiah Rutherford, and Gunner Maldonado via the traditional recruiting router or in the transfer portal.

However, with so many players being largely untested, adding even more depth would be ideal and let competition sort things out in Spring Ball and in Fall Camp.

Defensive Line – Things do look promising here in 2021, especially with all the players returning, but as we should all be well aware of by now, it is that this is seemingly an ongoing need for the Wildcats.

Arizona did add Jason Harris (brother to Jalen Harris) via the  transfer portal, and also have signed players like Evan Branch-HaynesAlex Navarro-Silva, and Kevon Garcia for 2021 as well. But adding more talent and depth would be ideal. After all, the Wildcats could all the extra help and production that they can get.
