Continuing to make moves this off-season, the Arizona Football team has added another player via the transfer portal in Fresno State DT Leevel Tatum III.

The Arizona Football team is preparing for the upcoming 2021 season, but not without making a few more moves to the roster first. With months to go until the start of the season, the Wildcats have added Fresno State transfer, Leevel Tatum III.

A defensive tackle that spent four seasons at Fresno State, Leevel originally committed to UNLV out of high school but transferred to Fresno after just one season.

Over the past three seasons, Tatum saw just limited action. According to Sports Reference, Leevel appeared in just 13 games with the Bulldogs, totaling 20 tackles (11 solo), 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and an interception.

Now a graduate senior, Tatum is on the move again, and luckily for us, he is coming to Tucson to play with the Wildcats, and the news of his transfer broke recently.

Coming in at 6-feet-1-inch and 259 pounds, Leevel has solid size, and he should help to provide immediate depth to the Wildcats. His addition also highlights the masterful job head coach Jedd Fisch has done on the recruiting front, adding a lot of talent from the transfer portal.

If you may recall, Fisch has also added Wisconsin linebacker Malik Reed and Kenny Hebert In recent weeks. With the Wildcats’ continued needs across the defensive line, adding a player like Tatum isn’t a bad thing.

What will the Arizona Football defensive line look like for 2021?

For 2021, the Wildcats should have a deeper group, and with newly hired defensive coordinator Don Brown running a more aggressive scheme, things will be interesting to follow this coming season.

Coming in, Arizona does return Josh “JB” Brown, who sat out last season due to Covid concerns, as well as Aaron Blackwell, Trevon Mason, Jalen Harris, and Kyon Barrs.

They also return players like Regen Terry, Eddie Siamau-Sanitoa, Shontrail Key, and Paris Shand among others who saw less time but could see increased roles in 2021.

Arizona also added incoming Colorado transfer Jason Harris, junior college transfer Alex Navarro-Silva, as well as high school commits Evan Branch-Haynes and Kevon Garcia.

Overall, seems like a solid upgrade in talent, now let’s see if it can turn into significant, improved results for the Cats.
