After an interesting journey that led him to Arizona and Washington State, Eastern Washington forward Kim Aiken, Jr. recommits to Arizona Basketball.

It has been an interesting couple of months for Eastern Washington transfer Kim Aiken, Jr. as the forward committed to Arizona Basketball, then to Washington State, and now back to Arizona again.

If you may recall, Kim initially committed to Arizona and Sean Miller back in April, but after the coaching change, naturally, he decided to open things back which led him to Washington State.

Well, after a few months of being committed to the Cougars, Kim announced his intent to transfer again, and making news via social media, Kim recommitted to the Wildcats on Monday, picking Arizona over offers from Miami, DePaul, and Washington State.

It has been an interesting journey for Kim as the forward will end up in Tucson after all, and his addition will beef up the frontcourt. He is a nice depth add this late in the recruiting cycle, and it gives Tommy Lloyd another solid recruiting win just ahead of the 2021-22 season.

With two years of eligibility left to play, Kim Aiken, Jr. is a solid addition for Tommy Lloyd and Arizona Basketball.

Coming in, I imagine Kim will likely play behind Azuolas Tubelis, and his versatility will allow for the Wildcats to use him in a variety of ways.

This past season at Eastern Washington, Kim was a big part of the Eagles’ success, averaging 11.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists as they made the NCAA Tournament.

With Arizona, we don’t expect him to have the same kind of production, however, he could be one of Arizona’s better players, and his veteran experience will be invaluable.

Standing 6-feet-7-inches and 215 pounds, Kim is a long and athletic forward that fits the mold of the Wildcats well. His size and length help him to excel on the defensive end, and he rebounds well.

Lastly, he can score at all three levels, and is the perfect addition to provide depth in the frontcourt!

Here’s a reminder of what the Wildcats are getting!
