Days after being named to the Maxwell Award watch list, Arizona Football wide receiver Jacob Cowing has been named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list.
It was just days ago that Arizona Football wide receiver Jacob Cowing was named to the Maxwell Award watch list. And luckily for us, the former UTEP transfer isn’t done drawing preseason interest and hype with the 2022 season nearly upon us.
Making news via social media on Thursday afternoon, Cowing was added to another award watch list, this time it was the Biletnikoff Award watch list.
An award that is given to college football’s top wide receiver, Cowing is considered by many to be one of the best pass catchers in college football as we head into the season.
Already, Arizona has seen punter Kyle Ostendorp draw some praise as he was named a preseason second-team All-American, but Cowing continues to impress many others as well.
Transferring to Arizona Football this off-season, Jacob Cowing should be primed for a potentially big year.
A native of Arizona and former standout at Maricopa High School just outside of Phoenix, Cowing was lightly recruited out of high school but went to UTEP where he became a budding star in just his three seasons spent in El Paso.
Well, now Cowing is coming back to Arizona to be closer to family, and in particular, his young son. Coming off a huge 2021 season, Jacob should be once again primed for a potentially big season as he teams up with a solid receiving corps that includes Tetairoa McMillan (aka “T-Mac”), Keyan Burnett, Kevin Green, Jr., AJ Jones, Jamarye Joiner, and others.
His presence will solidify this group, and while his chances of winning the Maxwell Award and Biletnikoff Award may be slim; however, it is great seeing him draw the early praise.
Either way, we are excited about the quickly approaching 2022 season, and cannot wait to see Jacob’s impact with the Wildcats this season! Here’s a small preview of the Wildcats’ offensive weapon.
