Chance Comanche’s journey from the University of Arizona to the Sacramento Kings is a tale of dedication, resilience, and the pursuit of a dream.

In the ever-evolving landscape of the NBA, stories of perseverance and hard work stand out.

College Days at Arizona: Chance Comanche‘s basketball journey began in earnest at the University of Arizona. As a promising big man with raw talent and untapped potential, he joined the Wildcats’ program in 2015. During his two-year tenure, Comanche showcased his ability to protect the rim and crash the boards, earning a reputation as an imposing presence in the paint.

Though his college career was relatively short-lived, his potential was undeniable. After his sophomore year, Comanche decided to declare for the NBA Draft, taking a leap of faith to pursue his dreams at the highest level of basketball.

Navigating the G-League: Undrafted but undeterred, Chance entered the NBA G-League in pursuit of his NBA dream. He joined the Memphis Hustle, where he honed his skills, worked on his game, and developed into a more complete player. His time in the G-League allowed him to refine his post moves, improve his rebounding, and expand his basketball IQ as well.

Comanche’s dedication and resilience did not go unnoticed. He began to attract the attention of scouts and NBA teams with his consistent performances and continued growth on the court.

The Chiefs’ journey brought him back to the NBA G-League after his brief stint abroad, signing with the Stockton Kings last season.

He played so well, that he signed a 10-day contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. That same day against the Golden State Warriors, Chance played in his NBA Debut.

After playing in the NBA, Comanche returned to the Sacramento Kings as he competed in the Summer League in 2023.

International Experience in Turkey: In 2021, Chance Comanche embarked on an international adventure, signing with Yeni Mamak Spor, a Turkish basketball club competing in the BSL (Basketball Super League). Playing overseas provided Comanche with a unique opportunity to experience a different style of basketball and further develop his game.

During his stint in Turkey, Comanche’s versatility and athleticism as a big man became even more pronounced. He quickly adapted to the international game and showcased his ability to score in various ways, both inside and out.

Rising to the NBA with the Sacramento Kings: In the late summer of 2022, Chance Comanche’s hard work and perseverance paid off when he earned a spot on the Sacramento Kings’ roster for training camp. The Kings recognized his potential as a skilled big man who could contribute to their front-court rotation.

Comanche’s journey from undrafted prospect to an NBA player is a testament to his determination and work ethic. His development in the G-League and his experience in Turkey played a pivotal role in preparing him for the challenges of the NBA.

Upside and Potential: Now 27 years old, Chance has plenty of room for growth and development. Standing at 6-feet-11-inches and possessing a versatile skill set, he has the potential to become a valuable asset for the Sacramento Kings.
