Arizona Football: Wildcats Recruits are Coming to Tucson
The Arizona football team has a HUGE game this weekend, and Arizona basketball and football recruits and commits want to join in on the fun!
Recruiting high school athletes is an art form. Coach Rich Rodriguez, Matt Dudek, along with the rest of the Arizona football coaching staff have done an excellent job recruiting from California, and now Louisiana thinking out of the box.

On the weekly Pac-12 coaches call, Coach Rich Rodriguez responded to a question about recruiting in Arizona versus Michigan. “I think every place you recruit at it’s going to be a little bit different based on your geography and I guess the schools history of recruiting always plays a little bit of a factor into where you go and what your base area’s are,” he said “Certainly at Arizona our base is the west coast; it’s the state of Arizona and California and up and down the coast and we venture out to Louisiana and Florida.”
One big part of recruiting is bringing your recruits onto the University of Arizona campus to take in the color and excitement during a huge football or basketball game.
Right on queue, Jason Scheer (
), Senior Editor of
, posted a video about just how many Arizona football recruits will be in town for the big game. According to Scheer, there will be 120 recruits and ten commits in attendance. That’s huge!
We scoured Twitter to see who announced they will be in town this weekend for the big game, and here is what we found:
Josh Allen, JUCO commit being offered still by Alabama, Idaho, Hawaii and the list keeps growing; looks likes he’
s come to Tucson:
"In Tucson this weekend"
Arizona commit and Narbonne High School star Sean Riley will be making the trip to Tucson.
You can bet Sean Miller should be able to leverage the UCLA game for recruiting as well. After all, the basketball players go to the football games and vice versa. Arizona basketball recruits won’t be left behind, we see that Mitch Lightfoot is travelling to Tucson for the game.
"U of A game this weekend"
Then there are Arizona recruits like defensive back Lamar Jackson, who is not coming to Tucson. Instead, he is going to Tempe, Arizona to visit ASU. According to Gabe Encinas (@Gabe_Encinas) of AZDesertStorm.com, Jackson was in Tucson last weekend, and he really enjoyed his visit.
We cannot forget Wildcats fans, there will be a reunion of current students with Arizona alumni who inhabited the front row of the ZonaZoo at Arizona basketball games last season. They will also be in Tucson this weekend.
There are way too many recruits and commits travelling to Tucson this weekend to name in this article, so we will just leave you with this: It would be a magnificent time to win a game!
There will be plenty of recruits also watching the game from home, the pressure is immense for the coaches and the team. As fans, let’s keep it classy and the signs only funny and Tucson will shine on Saturday win or lose.
My prediction: UCLA 35 Arizona 41
