Kyle Fogg scores 42 points as his Elite Overseas team beat Maryland-based City of Gods 103-92 in a highly contested final four game in The Basketball Tournament.

Former Arizona Basketball player Kyle Fogg is playing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) team Overseas Elite dropping an unconscious and tournament-record 42 points to propel his team to the finals to possibly win $2 million dollar prize. The Overseas Elite team are the 2015 Champions and winners of $1 million; they are defending the crown in 2016 and doing a darn good job.

The Overseas Elite team is coached by former St. Johns coach and current ESPN College Basketball Analyst Fran Fraschilla. Elite team is seeded No. 2 in the South Region and they’ve never lost in TBT earning a record of 11-0.

The star of Saturday’s game was none other than former Arizona Wildcat Kyle Fogg. Fogg has been playing overseas for the Antwerp Giants (Belgium) and has also played for the Eurocup. When Fogg’s Elite team won the $1 million prize last year, he bought his mom a house with his portion of the winnings. According to Tucson News Now, if Kyle wins the final game, he will use it to furnish his mother’s house, buying her a new car and putting money towards kids who can’t afford an education.

Playing alongside Fogg are a few other notable US college players who also play overseas: D.J. Kennedy (Yenisey Krasnoyarsk of the Russian VTB United League) and Paris Horne (Büyükçekmece Basketbol of the Turkish Basketball Second League) out of St. Johns University.

On Saturday in the semi-final game, Fogg scored enough to overtake a 15-point deficit in the first half to tie the game at halftime. The Overseas Elite led by as many as 21 points in the second half and ended up literally moving their team’s name in one of the two spots left for the final game.

Kyle Fogg scored a 3-pointer with less than 30 seconds left and ensured the win for his team. Fogg’s night would end with impressive stats; he made 12 out of 16 FGs and 7 out of 8 3-pointers, that’s 87%!
