Scooby Wright III coming back home to Arizona to play for the Cardinals after almost a whole season on the practice squad for the Cleveland Browns.
We waited and waited and waited for some really smart NFL team to draft our star middle linebacker Scooby Wright’s name flash across our televisions sets. Finally, the Cleveland Browns came knocking and Scoob was drafted in the sixth round, the No. 250th pick.
Just after he was drafted the Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians told folks that he called Wright just before the draft to offer him as a free agent. Arians recently recovered from an illness that sent him to the hospital for a brief stay. Here is Arians statement from AZ Central:

"“Scooby’s a great blitzer, and I actually had Scooby on the phone, begging him to come with us as a free agent because I think he has something special about him, and the Browns drafted him,” Arians said recently during promotions for the second annual Arians Family Foundation Fundraiser at Steak 44."
As we follow Scooby’s rollercoaster football life, today was an “up” day in his career, he will flow from freezing Cleveland Ohio back to the west to Phoenix Arizona to play for the Arizona Cardinals.
It appears the Cardinals have suffered injuries and arrests in the linebacker position and they are in need of fresh blood. The day has come for Coach Arians, he finally gets his wish to add Wright to his roster. Just as Mike Jurecki, Fox Sports Cardinals expert, tweeted out the prognostication, the final word came from Your Sports Networks stating the exact time (5:30 AM) Wright will be fleeing, we mean leaving Cleveland.
The Tweet from our former Wildcat was a confirmation:
Scooby’s former Wildcats teammates chimed in to congratulate him:

We all know Scooby’s story, he went from getting one college offer to getting these nine prestigious awards in his 2014 season to now entering the NFL Draft:
- Unanimous All-American(2014)
- Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year (2014) first sophomore to ever win
- First-team All-Pac-12(2014)
- CBS Sports Defensive Player of the Year (2014)
- SB Nation Defensive Player of the Year (2014)
- Bronko Nagurski Trophy (2014)
- Rotary Lombardi Award (2014)
- Chuck Bednarik Award (2014)
- Jack Lambert Award (2014)
Never count this man out, he is as determined as he ever has been. Scooby has that rare quality that you don’t find in most people. He has that ‘never give up and follow your dreams’ mentality that gets him everywhere and rubs off on those around him.
The word on the street is that Cardinals management will be watching the team to see who has passion for the game of football in order to see who they will want to keep for next season so says Kent Somers and Bob McManaman from AZCentral Sports. Well, we all know passion is Scooby’s middle name. He will be playing as if each game was the game of his life, we guarantee it! So watch out current Arizona Cardinals linebackers, you better step it up these last three weekends!
