Former Arizona Wildcat Kobi Simmons recently signed a contract with the Memphis Grizzlies and decided to share in his good fortune surprising his mom with a fancy car.
Arizona Wildcat Kobi Simmons has had quite last few weeks. He signed on with the NBA Memphis Grizzlies, played in the NBA Summer League and signed a two-way contract.
But Simmons wasn’t done, he decided to surprise his mom with a very special gift, something you could assume he had planned to do for a while. He bought his mom a Range Rover in gold complete with a beautiful oversized bow for a beautiful mom.

The Grizzlies expressed their approval in this tweet:
There’s nothing like making your dreams come true. Now making your parents dreams come true, now that takes it to a whole new level.

Jeff Eisenberg got the skinny what went into his mom giving him the name Kobi Jordan Simmons, seems she was properly seeing into the future. Kobi grew to be 6-foot-6 and can catch so much air, when he dunks it takes the air out of the arena.
"After Kobi Simmons’ parents named his older brother Jalen after Jalen Rose, they wanted a basketball name for him too. His mom favored “Jordan,” but the family dog already was named after the Chicago Bulls legend.Four-year-old Jalen suggested “Kobe Jordan Simmons” and his mom loved it, though she did mess with the spelling a bit to make it unique. While Jalen has gone on to play for lower-division Berea College, Kobi has the potential to play professionally someday. The McDonald’s All-America combo guard committed to Arizona earlier this month."
Kobi understands who he is named after, and feels just as confident as these two that he can be a great NBA player.

When Kobi was on the court, fans really looked forward to explosive plays which he was able to deliver in the beginning of the season and contributed to his team’s success in Summer league with a bunch of highlights.

Kobi has heart on and off the court. His infectious smile and facial expressions are entertaining as well as his high-flying dunks and passing ability. I am personally looking forward to covering the G-League next season so I can watch Simmons play live again for the Grizzlies or the Memphis Hustle, it will be my privilege. Bear Down Kobi!
