Arizona Basketball: Allonzo Trier, Pac-12 Player of the Week

Arizona Wildcat basketball star Allonzo Trier earns Pac-12 Player of the Week Honors. See why Trier earned himself another honor.
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire! That is what Allonzo Trier has been doing of late, on fire inside Mckale Center. Back-to-back 30 plus games, scoring a career high, that’s all. Last season it was Lauri Markkanen winning accolades and deservingly so. This season it’s Zo’s time!
Trier already on several national watch lists and pre-season All-American. His most recent accomplishment of winning the Pac-12 Player of the Week in the opening week is a testament to all the hard work he has been putting in this offseason.

This would not be the first time Trier has won this award. Last season he received the Pac-12 Player of the Week in December. Winning the award in the opening week of the regular season this time around is making a STATEMENT. Just imagine if Trier had played the full season last year, he would have easily won more Pac-12 Player of the Week awards.

In the two games played, Trier is averaging 31 points, almost four rebounds per game, three assists per game. Stats like that are on another level. He keeps that up; this won’t be the first Pac-12 Player of the Weeks honors he receives.
Trier also became the eighth player in Wildcat basketball history to score 30 points in consecutive games. The last player was Jerryd Bayless back in 2008. Also, similar to DeAndre Ayton setting opening season records, Trier is the second player to score 30 in back-to-back games of the first two games of the season.
More accolades! Trier was also named NBCSports Player of the Week. He keeps this up, and he will be one of the all-time greats in Wildcat basketball history.
