Former Wildcats who look to be Selected in the 2018 NFL Draft
It’s the day of the 2018 NFL Draft, and as numerous, former College Football players look to be drafted, we look at the chances of a few, Former Wildcats.
The long lull between the Super Bowl’s conclusion, until the start of football season is unfortunately upon us, but luckily, the 2018 NFL Draft is here to satiate our need for football action. As the draft begins this Thursday, a few Former Wildcats hope to hear their name called by the end of this weekend.
Every year, 256 guys are selected in the NFL Draft out of hundreds that are deemed eligible. This year, a few Wildcats are hoping to have their named called before it’s all said and done on Sunday.

It’s no secret since former head coach Rich Rodriguez took over, there haven’t been too many NFL draft picks. In 2018, that trend doesn’t appear that it’ll change too much, as just a few Wildcats have the potential to be drafted.
Out of the few eligible, just a couple Wildcats that seem to have the best chance are, former defensive back Dane Cruikshank and former offensive lineman, Jacob Alsadek.
As it stands, Cruikshank is the only player from Arizona who participated in the NFL Combine this year. He also performed well enough, that some are now projecting Cruikshank to land somewhere in the fourth or fifth round.
- CBS Sports – 194th overall, Los Angeles Rams
- Land Of 10 – 120th overall, Seattle Seahawks
- Chad Reuter, NFL.com – 106th overall, Denver Broncos
- Draft Site – 183rd overall, Los Angeles Rams
- Matt Miller, Bleacher Report – Undrafted
- Draft Tek – 255th overall, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Walter Football – 114th overall, Cleveland Browns
- USA Today – 250th overall, Philadelphia Eagles
- Pro Football Focus – 237th overall, Detroit Lions
Alsadek unfortunately did not get invited to the combine, but the former anchor of Arizona’s offensive line had a pretty solid pro day. Here’s how he performed!
40-yard: 5.38 seconds
20-yard: 3.12
10-yard: 1.83
Bench: 18 reps
Vertical jump: 24
Board jump: 8’5”
20-yard shuttle: 4.94
3-come drill: 8.17 seconds
Alsadek did well enough, that he now may move into a seventh-round pick, if not he will be signed via free agency.
A few other Wildcats that hope to make an NFL roster, are Nick Wilson, Zach Green and Gerhard de Beer. Green got attention from some NFL Teams and had a promising pro day along with earning MVP honors in the Polynesian Bowl, so he could go in the fifth or sixth round.
