With the Arizona Wildcats hot on the recruiting trail, a top prospect from the state of Arizona in Nico Mannion, is reclassifying to 2019.

As we had highlighted a few days ago, the Wildcats are very much after Nico Mannion, a top prospect and point guard in the class of 2020. However, there will be a slight change.

Mannion who is and will continue to be a top prospect for Arizona, could be making a slight change to his college plan. The Phoenix-based point guard is possibly reclassifying to the 2019 class. If you recall, we had stated this could be a possibility.

How does this affect Arizona? Well, I would assume not much. Mannion is a premiere talent, and one you try to make room for.

As it stands, the Wildcats have just Alex Barcello (a soon-to-be sophomore), and Justin Coleman (a senior grad transfer) at point guard for this season. Beyond that? The prospects in Arizona’s back court are wide open.

Sure, Arizona is still recruiting Brandon Williams for 2018, but even if he were to come, we don’t know how long Williams would be here. Besides, if we learned anything from this past season, it is that we could use more guards.

Also, when there’s a talent like Mannion, you do your best to find room for a player like that.

He’s the complete package! He also comes from a talented family.

His father Pace, was a standout player at the University of Utah, that led to a prosperous, seven-year, NBA career. His mother? Easily impressive herself, a former professional volleyball player from Italy.

Athlete is in this kids blood, and it’s easy to see when he’s on the court.

Standing a wiry 6-foot-3-inches and roughly 180 pounds according to 247Sports, he has the tools to be successful early on.

His highlights are impressive! Mannion a number of ways he can score. He has a very reliable jump shot, great vision and overall athleticism. He has a great feel for the game, making it look incredibly easy and smooth.

The Wildcats have certainly made him a priority, and we don’t see that changing with the reclassification. This past weekend, Sean Miller made it a point to watch him play live again.

Go get him coach!
