Big things are brewing here in Tucson! Kevin Sumlin is the new head coach, he returns a few valuable pieces from last year, and now the Arizona Football team gained a solid transfer from Texas A&M.
Meet Robert Congel, the 6-foot-3-inch 315 pound offensive lineman who will be transferring to Arizona.

Congel, a former walk-on with the Aggies, had a pretty big impact in College Station this past year, having seen action in five games last season as a backup at guard. Being that he was just a walk-on, he should be eligible to play immediately in Tucson.
If that is indeed the case, his addition should be greatly welcomed!
Gone from 2017 are guys like; Jacob Alsadek, Christian Boettcher and Gerhard de Beer. That leaves a lot of opportunity for the guys up front, as well as a lot questions as to just how good Arizona’s line will be next season.
As it stands, Arizona will return starters Nathan Eldridge and Layth Friekh from last year. Outside of that, guys like; Michael Eletise and Alex Kosinski both of whom saw action last year, will return too, with the Wildcats!
Additionally, Thiyo Lukusa becomes eligible after transferring from Michigan State, while Maisen Knight and Edgar Burrola come off redshirt seasons.
The good news is there is talent! The vacancies will provide some competition, however this group will likely need time to gel early in the season.
Congel’s comes at the right time, and his addition just makes this all the sweeter! The announcement came via social media on Tuesday, and we are certainly excited about it!
A standout at the perennially talented IMG Academy in Florida, Congel has great size, strength and athleticism. Just from looking at his film, he possesses good, raw potential, with good upside.
He does tend to get caught playing too tall at times, and does lumber a little bit for a big guy, but overall he plays with a bit of a nasty streak that should be welcomed in Tucson.
