Kevin Sumlin and the Arizona Football team is on fire, gaining three commits from the weekend, including one from an Edison linebacker.

When you’re hot, you’re hot, and right now the Wildcats are blazing, gaining their third commit of the weekend, this one from an Edison linebacker!

While it was a big weekend in recruiting for Arizona, the Wildcats played host to a number of visitors, gaining the commitments from Derrion Clark and Kane Bradford.

Joining that list now too is Kwabena Watson! A big-time play maker from Fresno, CA, the 6-foot-3-inch linebacker is not only a great talent, but he is a big-time commit!

Ranked as the 60th linebacker in the country, we expect that ranking to rise and quickly. As of now, he is rated as a three-star in the class of 2019, Clark and possesses offers from USC, LSU, Oregon and Mississippi State among others.

More impressive than those schools, is the fact Sumlin and the Wildcats were able to convince a player like Watson to come here of all places!

A standout linebacker from Edison High School in Fresno, CA, Watson is a fantastic football player! Not only does he come from a talent-rich area, but he’s also from a High school that has been kind to the Wildcats, giving us cornerback McKenzie Barnes in the class of 2018!

Following his visit, Watson decided to shut his recruitment down, picking the Wildcats via social media!

This past season with the Tigers, Watson had quite the productive season, playing defensive end and tight end at Edison. As a junior, Watson had 60 tackles, 48 of them being solo with 18 tackles going for a loss, while sacking the opposing quarterback seven times.

Now that’s production!

Watson is fast, strong and very athletic! Just from watching his film, he’s an impressive athlete!

Despite lining up on the defensive line, he’s a player that likely projects as a linebacker at the next level, but nonetheless he’s very effective playing off the edge. Watson generates a good pass rush, while adhering to his responsibilities as a player and keeping great eye discipline.

He doesn’t seem to get beat off the edge, and will make good adjustments to where the play is going. Watson will also finish plays well, showing great effort and pursuit of the football, before crushing the ball carrier.
