The ongoing saga continues with Arizona Basketball and Dick Vitale, and here’s why his latest tweet shows why he’s getting it wrong.
Are you sick of the Dick Vitale drama? Us too! However, his latest social media post is drawing ire from Arizona Basketball fans, and this is why he continues to get it wrong!
It’s well-known by now, the University of Arizona Basketball program has found itself in an uncompromising position, but as of now there’s no reason to continue to hypothesize about a situation that will not be settled for some time.

We are quickly approaching the one-year mark since the Arizona Basketball Program was shook with an explosive investigation that tied former assistant coach Emmanuel ‘Book’ Richardson seeking impermissible benefits to pass along to potential players.
However, nearly one year since that investigation and not much new information has come out, and the Wildcats’ coaching staff continues to be on solid ground for now.
There is a ways to go before we find out more answers, but at this time, what is known is based on facts that are present and public, anything else beyond that is pure speculation.
The public will continue to throw proverbial stones at Arizona and while we’ve taken our share of verbal lumps over the year, one of the biggest perpetrators is ESPN College Basketball analyst, Dick Vitale.
Vitale has been for a lack of a better word, vocal about the whole situation, throwing Arizona head coach Sean Miller ‘under the bus’ in the process, calling for his termination.
The interesting thing about that is, at this time, facts are not known with Miller’s involvement in the whole situation, so inferring or calling for his termination based on no facts is silly to say the least.
Well, on Sunday, Vitale took it too far once again. Amid the FBI probe, Vitale made an asinine statement regarding former Louisville head coach, Rick Pitino.
Pitino’s assistants organized sex parties... a player that pitino got to Louisville (Bowen) never played in @NCAA because he was ineligible for being paid. Defending pitino while bashing miller is something else.YES & what happened HE WAS FIRED even though NO PROOF just hearsay

Vitale essentially was defending his friend, stating there is no proof. Well, couldn’t that same logic be applied to Miller who also has no proof against him? That’s incredibly hypocritical to say, and he’s rightfully facing backlash for such a foolish comment.
This is the sort of exception Arizona fans like myself along with others take to when it comes to misreporting and “East Coast bias”.
You have an ESPN employee saying Rick Pitino should have a job because there’s no proof he knew about anything. Same employee says Sean Miller should be fired despite there being no proof he knew anything. That’s impressive stuff.

Luckily, after a back and forth dialogue with Arizona fans, Vitale seemed to back off a bit, retracting a bit on his statement, agreeing that he and ESPN reacted a little too quickly.
I’ve been la big fan for yrs of both @APlayersProgram & Sean Miller/this is the last time I am addressing this / u ppl FAIL to UNDERSTAND how SERIOUS it is when a coaching staff member is ARRESTED / blaming me is absurd ! I do admit we reacted too quickly on 1st report on Sean
