Khalil Tate works out with Former NFL Great, Peyton Manning
Amidst a busy Arizona Football off-season, Wildcat quarterback Khalil Tate is perfecting his craft, by working with Peyton Manning.
If you’re not working hard at getting better, what’s the point of being a competitor? Well, this seems to be something Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate is taking to heart.
The Arizona junior who took college football by storm last season is looking to make the next jump as a football player! While Tate excited college football fans with his legs and amazing play making ability, there’s always more to learn and improve upon.

Even though last season was rather successful, it can’t hurt to take advice from some of the best people in football, one of those people would be none other than Peyton Manning!
A former college great, long-time NFL veteran, Super Bowl Champion, Pro-Bowler and future Hall of Famer, Manning is now taking his time and knowledge to pass along to others. Tate just happens to be a beneficiary to that.
Last week, Peyton hosted the Manning Passing Academy along with brother Eli and father Archie, taking in young athletes and showing them the ropes. Tate was invited to the event to serve as a counselor to others, but also to get some instruction from the Manning’s.
That’s not a bad group to learn from!
As we had stated previously, Tate had a rather great season in 2017, but it can’t hurt to continue to challenge yourself to improve. His numbers were quite good, passing for over 1,500 yards with 14 touchdowns to nine interceptions, while completing 62 percent of his passes.
More impressive were his stats running the football. Tate torched and gashed opposing defenses for 1,411 yards with another 12 touchdowns on the ground.
Well, fast forward a year, and things in Tucson look a bit different. Kevin Sumlin is the new head man in town and with a renewed sense of excitement, there is a lot to look forward to with Arizona Football in 2018!
With him, Sumlin is bringing a bit of a change with his offensive style as well. That means a bit of adaptation for Tate, but understand, Sumlin will still likely use Tate and his strengths, heck, look no further than Johnny Manziel in Sumlin’s first season in College Station.
The passing accuracy and ability is an area that couldn’t hurt to be aided or at least directed a bit. Hopefully, the Manning’s will be able to help that.
Either way, it’s exciting to see Arizona Football and Tate continue to get exposure, especially at a high level such as the Manning Passing Academy!
