Chance Comanche signs for NBA Summer League with Orlando Magic
Year two in the NBA, Chance Comanche signed on to play Summer League with the Orlando Magic.
Chance Comanche picked up by the Orlando Magic to play in the NBA Summer League after logging a fantastic first season in the G-League playing for the Memphis Hustle. Orlando loved him coming out of their minicamp, so Comanche opted to go with Orlando to get a different experience.
You can catch Comanche playing in the famous Los Angeles Pro-Am Drew League for James Harden and team LAUNFD (Los Angeles Unified). The team is 4-0, and Chance plays with Stevie and Ethan Thompson out of Oregon State. LAUNFD will play this Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm at King Drew High School in Compton California. This is Comanche’s second season playing in the Drew.

After being one of 40 players invited to and performing well in the NBA G-League mini-camp on May 14-15th, Chance was invited to a Clippers and then the Magic minicamps. Orlando was impressed by Comanche and offered him a Summer League invite. He weighed his options and then decided to sign on and will play with the team in Summer League as an undrafted free agent. Just like Dusan Ristic is doing for the Phoenix Suns and Rawle Alkins for the Toronto Raptors.
The next step would be to get a training camp invite from Orlando or any other NBA team to try to beat out drafted players and players on the roster to make the final roster after the pre-season.
Other bigs listed on the current Orlando roster is 30-year-old Free Agent Marreese Speights (Florida), 20-year-old Jonathan Isaac (Florida State), 7-foot 27-year-old Nikola Vucevic (USC) and newly drafted rookie Mo Bamba (Texas, 20 years old).
Chance played very well in the second half of his first season playing for the Memphis Hustle; he scored 33 points in this showdown against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Comanche and fellow rookie Kobi Simmons played together in this game.
