Since making his way southwest, it’s been nothing but success for Foles. He sat out a year as per transfer rules, and then when he became eligible, he sat out again, waiting his turn behind then starter, Matt Scott.
Making his appearance just a few games into the 2009 season, Foles has not looked back.
The towering quarterback made himself known at Arizona for being a skilled passer, great teammate and even better person. After an illustrious three-year career, Foles took his talents to the NFL, where he was drafted in the third round, 88th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Since being drafted in 2012, Foles has mostly made himself known as a more-than-serviceable and reliable back-up, with a stellar Pro Bowl season coming in 2013 Pro Bowl. Following that Pro Bowl season, he has only found himself to be bouncing from team-to-team.
Leaving Philly, he spent the 2015 season with the St. Louis Rams. In 2016, he reunited with former Eagles head coach, Andy Reid in Kansas City in his lone season with the Chiefs. In 2017, he finally returned to the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ to back-up ‘up-and-comer’, Carson Wentz.
Wentz guided the Eagles to a terrific start, but a horrible injury derailed his season, forcing Foles to line-up under center for the remainder of the season. The savvy NFL veteran led the Eagles into the postseason, where he then was able to help guide Philly to the Super Bowl!
The rest is history! Foles delivered a brilliant, MVP Super Bowl performance, bringing a long overdue championship to City in desperate need of one.
His championship performance will go down in history, and at the annual ESPN-hosted, ESPY Awards, the Former Wildcat was recognized for it, winning the ‘Best Championship Performance’ award.
Humbled, here is what Foles had to say in his moment!
