Whether it’s on the hardwood, on the field or at the skate park, Wildcats win, and last week Arizona Student to be Liam Pace won Gold.
No he’s not the ‘Flying Tomato’ Shaun White, but Liam Pace is the Tucson-native skateboarder and soon-to-be Arizona Student with big dreams and aspirations. His go for it attitude and passion for life has certainly been a big part of his early successes.
Perhaps more impressive than his knack for busting sweet tricks, the Tucson-native is set to attend the University of Arizona in the fall, where he will major in Aerospace Engineering.

But before doing so, he’s got to be able to enjoy his summer just like every other teen! However for Pace, his fun involves a board and four wheels.
A recent graduate of Tucson High, Pace is just a 17-year old skateboarder with the hopes of making the X-Games (an event that hosts all the top Extreme Sport athletes) just like every other extreme sports athlete. Last week, he would be given that chance!
Making the journey from Tucson to Minnesota, it was time for him to fulfill his dreams, and finally be able to showcase his talent. Well, on Friday last week, he did just that.
Making his debut in the Next X Skateboard Park contest, Pace did not disappoint. He would get two runs, but his strong first run vaulted him in first place in the contest, where he was able to hold on to win Gold.

Using a myriad of board flips, grinds and holds, his creativity was on full display in front of the judges. By the end of it, he was rewarded accordingly!
Skating since the age of five, all his hard work paid off up until this moment, where Pace was able to not only fulfill his dream of competing, but taking home the Gold!
You can re-watch his ‘killer run’ here!
At Zona Zealots, we would like to congratulate the soon-to-be Wildcat on this amazing accomplishment! His run was very impressive and we wish him the best of luck as he officially comes to the UofA! Bear Down, Arizona!
