Continuing the busy Arizona Basketball off-season, Sean Miller and the Wildcats amp up their recruiting efforts, and now possibly lead for Christian Koloko.
At Zona Zealots, we have been doing our best to bring you recruiting updates as we learn them, and it seems like of late the Arizona Basketball team has been making great strides in recruiting.
As we’ve stated recently, the Wildcats have landed on a few Top lists for some big time recruits. Drew Timme narrowed his list recently, and Arizona made the cut. Additionally, CJ Walker has cut his list as well, and the Wildcats are very much in play.

Beyond that, Arizona is also focused on 2019 recruits, and AAU teammates, Josh Green and Nico Mannion. So, at this point, Arizona Basketball recruiting looks very promising.
Well, if that isn’t enough, perhaps more good news would make things even more exciting! Nearly a month after California big-man Christian Koloko has been offered by Arizona, it appears the Wildcats may be the favorite at this point!
247Sports has updated Koloko’s recruiting profile, and all the recent Crystal Ball picks have been in favor for the Cats! It is worth noting, that Koloko also holds offers from Cal, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Harvard and Princeton among others.
Originally a native of Cameroon, it’s been an amazing journey for him thus far. Having lived in the U.S. for about a year, he has been adjusting to the game of basketball, as well as living here quite well. Since coming state side, Koloko played for Birmingham High School in California this past season, where he plays alongside soon-to-be Wildcat, Devonaire Doutrive.
While he continues to adjust, Koloko has been an impressive player so far. Ranked as the 71st overall player in the class of 2019, he’s also rated as the 13th overall center, and the 7th ranked player in California.
Coming in at 7-feet-tall, Koloko certainly has good size, but at only 195-pounds, he could certainly use more bulk as he continues to develop.
He does tend to struggle a little against stronger players, but nonetheless, he has tremendous ability and upside. As he continues to mature and fills out a bit more, he has the potential to become a good college player.
He’s long, athletic, can move well and spread the floor! He’s natural out there, and doesn’t seem to force the game much and allows everything to come to him.
Koloko has raw ability, and as we said as continues to develop, he will be a solid college player! Just look at his highlights below, thanks to CBSSports.
At Zona Zealots, we are excited to follow the continued recruiting updates, and can’t wait to see how the 2019 recruiting class finishes! Bear Down, Arizona!
