Former Wildcat and No.1 NBA Draft pick Deandre Ayton, finally makes his appearance in NBA 2K19, and it’s time to see what his rating is.

“They will know your name.” That is the tagline to 2K Sports’ NBA 2K19, that is set to release on September 11, 2018.  How fitting is it, that this year’s line up of new players includes Former Wildcat and No.1 draft pick for the Phoenix Suns, Deandre Ayton.

For those who didn’t know who Ayton was prior to the season, will surely know who he is by season end. “My name is what, my name is who, my name is Deandre Ayton.”

More from Zona Zealots

Many former Wildcats have made it to the video game world, including some recent players such as Lauri Markkanen and Aaron Gordon. Markkanen had a rating of 79 last year and Gordon had a rating of 81. This year’s ratings have not yet been confirmed for either player, but would be a safe bet to see them both receive higher ratings.

As NBA 2K19 has been revealing numerous players for their game, we finally learned that Ayton will sport a 79 rating overall. How in the world? Given he is a rookie, but still for one of the guys with tremendous upside, who could have a legendary career (assuming he has no significant injuries), receive such a low rating?

Nonetheless, a 79 is still very respectable and we imagine in 2K20, it’ll likely go up from there! The game creators also did a tremendous job with the graphics!

Last month, the Suns Twitter accounts provided a little sneak peak preview behind the scenes of Ayton’s image being captured for NBA 2k19. He indicates to NBA 2k that he wants a high rating, maybe they listened? We’ll leave that up to you.

It is apparent though how much this moment means to him and how much of a “dream come true” it is to be inside a video game he once played.

Ayton also does show his comedic side in this behind the scenes highlight, which is fun to watch. For someone to have the skillset he has, to have the expectations and the pressure as a No.1 Draft pick, him being able to joke around is refreshing to watch!

At Zona Zealots, we would like to congratulate Ayton in making into NBA 2k19. Everyone can now have the opportunity to know what it’s like to be in Ayton shoes on the court. We look forward to many more years of Ayton being part of the NBA 2k franchise. Bear Down!
