Former Arizona Wildcat Chance Comanche is taking his talents overseas to an elite FIBA League in Serbia.

Chance Comanche spent the summer with LAUNFD’s Montrezl Harrell (Los Angeles Clippers), James Harden (NBA MVP and Houston Rockets), Stephaun Branch (South Bay Lakers) and PJ Tucker (Houston Rockets) in the Drew League. The 6-foot-11 power forward showed his dominance in the paint and got some great playtime with NBA players. He also joined the Orlando Magic’s Summer League team in Las Vegas.

Comanche spent his rookie season in the NBA G-League playing for the Memphis Hustle. At times he played with fellow former Arizona Wildcat Kobi Simmons who spent a lot of time with the Grizzlies. Comanche excelled in the second half of the season getting a lot of positive attention.

The Orlando Magic made a bad decision, in my opinion, and barely played Comanche in Summer League. The world didn’t get a taste of his game and how much it had developed. But as we know, he believes in the process and maintains his positive attitude at all times.

Comanche decided to play the second year of his professional career in Serbia and signed with KK Partizan Belgrade in the ABA League which includes 12 teams. Partizan ended their 2017-2018 season with an 11-11 record and in fifth place, so there is potential for Chance to help this team move up the ladder.

Partizan has been in existence for about 42 years (1976) and has won the ABA League Championship six times (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013). The team also has won the Serbian Championship eight times (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) along with too many other trophies to list.

The ABA League is the same league that Dusan Ristic plays in. Ristic plays for last season’s No. 1 team Crvena Zvezda which went 19-3 last season.

When signing contracts to play professional basketball, having NCAA D1 experience is a must, but add NBA G-League experience to your resume, and it usually garners a lot of money. Also, the NBA scouts talent in Europe and especially Serbia and Croatia. This is probably the reason Ristic decided to start his pro career in his home country of Serbia, he signed a three-year deal.

Chance also played with Oregon State Beavers Ethan and Steven Thompson, here are some highlights from one game this summer against the Hamilton Brothers (Isaac, Jordan, Gary and the youngest Daniel):

We hope the games between Chance and Dus are televised, that would be some game as the two probably practiced against each other for two years in Tucson. We can now say Serbia is Wildcat Country.
