Kadeem Allen records triple double for the G League Affiliate Westchester Knicks
By David Rosen
Former Arizona Wildcat and current two-way player for the New York Knicks, Kadeem Allen, recorded a triple double for the G League Affiliate, Westchester Knicks.
On fire! Arizona Wildcats have been on fire as of late in the NBA. From Deandre Ayton in Phoenix, to Allonzo Trier in New York and Lauri Markkanen in Chicago, everyone is playing at a very high level. Add to that list former Wildcat and fan favorite Kadeem Allen. Couple months into his two-way contract with the Knicks and G League Westchester Knicks, Allen has putting up solid numbers when given a chance.
While at Arizona, he was one of the hardest working players before and during games. Things have not changed as Allen has continued to put in hard work, which is paying off. Similar to his former Wildcat teammate and current New York Knicks teammate, Trier, both have earned the opportunity they have been given. Trier so much so that he recently earned himself a two-year $7 million dollar contract.
Trier started out as a two-way player, but impressed the Knicks organization so much that he was rewarded. Allen continues to play the way he has, he may also find himself as a permanent member of the Knicks. Multiple Wildcats on the same team, got to love that! Another former Wildcat, Rawle Alkins, has seen some playing time with Markkanen and the Chicago Bulls, but certainly not enough. He deserves more playing time with the Bulls and hopefully that will happen sooner or later.

Allen signed as two-way player with the Knicks on January 14th of this year and has since played in 10 games for them out of the 22 he has been called up for. Allen has taken full advantage. He has averaged 10.1 points per game, 4.5 assists per game and 2.9 rebounds per game. Against the Philadelphia 76ers, he put up 25 points, six assists, three rebounds, 1 steal in 32 minutes of play!
For the Knicks G League Affliate Westchester Knicks, Allen has played in 37 games. He is averaging 14.9 points per game, 6.3 assists per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game. Allen has also started in every game he has played in the G-League.
The game of the season so far for Allen was a recent matchup against the Windy City Bulls. He became the second player ever in the Westchester franchise to record a triple double. Allen finished with 16 points, 12 assists and 12 rebounds – that’s efficiency!
As long as Allen to continues to perform the way he has, both in the NBA and G League, it will be just a matter of time before he gets rewarded. Somewhere, Coach Sean Miller is smiling and smiling proud for his former play, who he has praised many times for his work ethic. In today’s age of basketball, it’s easy for these players who get paid millions of dollars to not put in the work. Refreshing to see a player like Allen, to continue to work on his game, and not give up considering he has been through at the pro level.
At Zona Zealots, we would like to congratulate Kadeem Allen on his latest achievement of recording a triple double in the G League. Whether he gets picked up full time by the Knicks or by another organization, we will provide you with all the latest updates. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
