Former Arizona Wildcat and NBA veteran Andre Iguodala is having another legendary playoff run and deserves to be in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Iggy with the three! Once again the 15 year NBA Veteran and former Arizona Basketball standout Andre Iguodala is having himself another remarkable playoff season. Up 2 with the less then 10 seconds on the clock he hit a three pointer on the road  in Game 2 of the NBA Finals to secure the victory for the Warriors, evening the series 1-1. Unbelievable.

Supposedly playing injured, Iguodala showed up huge again for the Warriors in the NBA Finals. Must be that ice water in his veins or something. He is one of those guys that loves playing in high pressure moments. Can’t get any more pressure then knocking down a shot in the NBA finals, with the clocking running out.

More from Cats in the Pros

Without one of the greatest players in the game of basketball, Kevin Durant, Iguodala has stepped up his game. Great players do that. He went from not starting a single game in the first six games of playoffs for the Warriors to having to start every game since then.

At 35 years of age, what he has been able to accomplish is remarkable. From playing at Arizona to playing in the NBA, Iguodala has a resume that has Basketball Hall of Fame written all over it:

  • 3 time NBA Champion (looking for his fourth)
  • NBA Finals MVP in 2015
  • NBA All-Star in 2012
  • NBA All-Defense and Second Team
  • NBA All-Rookie Team
  • No.15 on the All-Time 3 pointers made in the NBA Finals with 31
  • Won the gold medal twice as a member of the USA national team, 2012 Summer Olympics and 2010 FIBA World Championship
  • First time All-PAC-10
  • Honorable Mention All-American
  • Became the second Pac-10 player ever to record two or more triple doubles in one season, he did it three times!

Several current players in the NBA on social media, including former Wildcat Allonzo Trier had this to say about Iguodala:

After Game 2 of the NBA Finals, he had this to say about his teammate Stephen Curry. What a class act!

The NBA Finals is not yet over, and there is plenty of more opportunites for Andre Iguodala to come up clutch and provide why he deserves to be in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Records, stats, titles, gold medals, coming up clutch numerous times are all reasons why he should be in. At Zona Zealots we hope Iguodala finally gets the recognition of being called an hall of famer when his playing days are all done. Bear Down, Arizona!
