Arizona Basketball is still a little less then five months away, but with the roster set lets dive into what to expect this season.

The 2018 season is in the rear view mirror and it is time to focus on the road ahead for the Arizona Basketball program. With sanctions still looming from the fall out of the NCAA basketball scandal there is still the 2019 season to look forward to. The talent level has increased from last season and with that comes many expectations.

Wildcat fans will be getting a group of familiar faces returning to the program that hopefully provides a steady foundation for this team as they navigate their 2019 schedule. Chase Jeter, Brandon Williams, Dylan Smith, Ira Lee and Alex Barcello are returning for another year in Tucson and will be relied on for their leadership this year.

Note: Their has been speculation that Brandon Williams is leaving. His stepfather recently told Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star that “nothing is set in stone” and that he is continuing to work out at Arizona.

The returning players will provide wisdom and insight to the newcomers on what being apart of Arizona Basketball is all about. In addition, grad transfers Stone Gettings and Max Hazzard will bring  experience, size, strength and high percentage shooting to the team.

In addition, the Wildcats have the added bonus of their incoming class, which ranks as one the best in the nation. Lead by Nico Mannion and Josh Green, this class is shaping up to be one of the best to ever step foot on the campus of Arizona.

Finally, the addition of former NAU head coach and Director of Arizona Basketball Operations in 2006, Jack Murphy, major addition to the coaching staff this season. He brings a wealth knowledge and understands what it takes to win, having been at Arizona during the Lute Olson era.
