Staying at Arizona. Amid rumors on social media, it was speculated that Arizona Basketball standout Brandon Williams would not being returning for his sophmore year. It has been confirmed per PlayersProgramU that he will be staying at Arizona and not going where. Arizona Basketball fans have been through a lot these last couple of months, but finding out Brandon Williams, one of the true leaders on this team isn’t going anywhere is a great feeling. Last season he was one of the bright spots of this team. Williams averaged 11.4 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 assists per game. He did start in 21 of 26 games played and will likely be part of the starting rotation this upcoming season.

Having him in the rotation alongside Nico Mannion, Max Hazzard and Alex Barcello adds depth to the backcourt. Williams style of play of attacking the rim, delivering dimes and moving without the ball to find his shot allows him to be a versatile guard.
His versatility does puts him in a position of re-injuring his knee. He did experience some knee issues late in the season, which is something Williams has had to deal with before in high school. Coaches will need to be cautious of this throughout the season.
Williams has been through a lot, from committing to Arizona, then decommiting, then re-committing and then having to be one of the main leaders of the team. He was someone Miller counted on heavily to produce in order to give the team a chance to win. As a freshman, that is a lot of pressure to handle.
Relive the moment Williams decided to re-commit to Arizona courtesy of In the Front Row:
This season he will be able to play a little more relaxed, which will benefit him and allow him to be a little more cautious with his knee issue. Last season Williams earned Pac-12 All Freshman Honorable Mention honors. If Williams is able to stay injury free, he as a good chance of earning more season end honors.
At Zona Zealots, we have always been a big fan of Brand Williams. He is truly a special young man and proud to call him an Arizona Wildcat. Bear Down, Arizona!
