With the Arizona Basketball team in the midst of a busy off-season, the Wildcats have received a commitment from four-star guard, Shane Dezonie!

Who doesn’t want a bit of good news regarding Arizona Basketball, especially after the last 24-48 hours that we’ve endured? Well, luckily for us, four-star guard Shane Dezonie did bring some delight to us fans on Sunday afternoon, committing to the Wildcats.

Making his announcement on Sunday via social media, the four-star guard out of Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH committed to the Wildcats, picking Arizona over offers from Arizona State, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Arkansas and Kansas State among others.

As you may recall, it was just days ago that the Wildcats even offered Shane, and it seems like it didn’t take him to make his decision, and we even hinted that the Wildcats may have been in the lead in this recruitment.

For Shane, he becomes the second commitment in the class, joining 2021 guard K.J. Simpson who committed to the Wildcats just a couple months ago, bringing their class up to No. 38 overall according to 247Sports and No. 6 in the Pac-12 currently.

As it stands, Shane is the No. 86 overall player in the class for 2021, and is the No. 20 overall player for his position, and given his size and athleticism, this should be a welcomed addition by Wildcat fans everywhere.

He comes in at a sturdy, 6-feet-4-inches, and 190 pounds and he will surely help bolster an Arizona backcourt that we don’t know what it will look like in 2021-22.

He is a defensive-minded guard that has the length and athleticism to guard the 1-4 potentially, and plus he is a good scorer with plus ability.

Shane is a guard that can score at all three levels, and can even distribute the basketball well also. This is a good pick-up for Arizona, and as we’ve said over and over again before, the talent is there.
