The young Mannion has quite the impressive athletic background. His father Pace played at the University of Utah before playing in the NBA and overseas in Italy. His mom Gaia was a renowned professional volleyball player in Italy, where the two met and where Nico was born.
Mannion has lived all over the world but has been living in Arizona the past few years, making quite a name for himself.
Now a freshman at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, AZ, Mannion is being dubbed as a potential basketball prodigy, and at 15-years old, he certainly has a bright future.
With offers from ASU, Utah and Utah State among others, there is a long way to go before he suits up for a college and plays basketball. He has the talent that Miller seeks, and he offered Nico on Wednesday.
Mannion is still a few years away from graduating, so he has a lot of time for development. Perhaps Miller is jumping on the opportunity to make his presence felt in Mannion’s recruitment early to establish a long-standing relationship. He will certainly receive much more offers in the years to come.
As a freshman Mannion is turning heads, making impressive plays, and scoring at will against some solid high school competition. Nico is averaging nearly 20 points, over four assists, and four rebounds per game.
At 6-foot-1′, Mannion stands to grow a few more inches in the future, and his development will be further along in the years to come, potentially making him the best player in Arizona for his class as well as one of the better players out West.
Just by looking at his film, he is quite the basketball player now, even at the age of 15!
